Where do the first 100 OnlyFans subscribers come from?
From short-form video, almost entirely, and faster than most people expect. What the first hundred are worth, how long they take, and the order to do it in. It is one of eleven pages working out the same operation; every figure we publish is in one table.
Short answer
Instagram and TikTok. Around 90% of an account's traffic comes from those two on our accounts, and the first hundred subscribers come from there almost without exception. Read on 18 September 2026.
How long it takes runs from one day to two weeks, and the spread is about the creator rather than about the method. The fastest case on our roster reached its first hundred subscribers after three Instagram videos, the first three that account ever posted.
Reddit is not on this list. It is a real channel and we publish a directory of 58 subreddits for creators who want it, but on our accounts it sits behind short-form video rather than beside it. Anyone telling a beginner to start on Reddit is describing a different decade.
What the first hundred are actually worth
Worth doing the arithmetic, because "the first 100 subscribers" is treated as a milestone and it is really a measurement.
| If those hundred are | They are worth | And a $10,000 month needs |
|---|---|---|
| Paying subscribers | About $3,300 a month net, at $33 each | About 300 of them |
| Free subscribers | About $400 a month net, at $4 each | About 2,500 of them |
Which is the real reason the first hundred matter: they are the first honest reading of what the traffic is worth, and that number barely changes as the account scales. A hundred subscribers who do not open messages predicts a thousand who do not. A $10,000 month, reconciled line by line.
The order that works
Not a growth hack list. This is the sequence our Starter Track runs, and the first post does not happen on day one.
- Create the OnlyFans account and wait for verification. Day one. Nothing else can start until the account it points at exists and is approved.
- Create the Instagram accounts and warm them up. Also day one, and the warm-up is the part beginners skip. A brand new account that posts ten videos on its first day is reporting itself.
- Position the OnlyFans page before anyone arrives. Price, welcome message, the pinned post, the first content shot and scheduled. Traffic arriving at an empty page is traffic spent.
- First Instagram post around day seven. Four to five days between a signed agreement and the first post is the normal timeline on our accounts.
- No link in the bio at the start. A link out of a brand new account is one of the reliable ways to lose reach before you have any. The first 30 days on Instagram.
- Post daily and read the like-to-view ratio, not the follower count. Followers are the slowest signal there is. The ratio tells you within a day whether a format is working.
- At day 30, throw away what did not work. The month-one review is where a format is chosen, and choosing one is the whole point of month one.
Why the spread is one day to two weeks
The same setup, the same team, the same channel, and one account takes a day while another takes a fortnight. Three things account for most of it, and only one of them is effort:
| What differs | Effect on the first hundred | Can it be changed |
|---|---|---|
| Whether one video lands | The single largest factor. One video reaching a large audience produces the first hundred on its own | Not directly. Only by posting enough that it can happen |
| How clearly the creator is one thing | A creator who can be described in one sentence converts viewers into subscribers. One who cannot is a face in a feed of faces | Yes, and it is the highest-return work there is |
| How much gets posted | Volume buys chances at the first factor | Yes, and it is the only one a creator controls outright |
The second one deserves its own paragraph, because it is where almost everybody loses. The market is saturated with accounts that are competent and indistinguishable. A creator who can be named in one sentence, the one who does a specific thing in a specific way, gets subscribed to; a creator who is generally attractive gets scrolled past. That sentence is not a marketing exercise, it is the thing the first hundred subscribers are reacting to.
Which is also why the honest version of "how do I get my first hundred subscribers" is not a channel answer at all. 99% of creators do not fail at making an OnlyFans account and posting to it. They fail at getting anybody to arrive. The account is the easy half.
What happens after they arrive
Two figures worth knowing before the first hundred land, because they set the expectation correctly:
70% to 80% of new subscribers cancel inside their first month, almost all of them shortly before the renewal would be charged. That is normal and it is not a verdict on the content. What a rebill rate should be.
And roughly 10% of subscribers produce roughly 90% of message revenue. So of the first hundred, ten of them are the account. Whether those ten get talked to in the first days decides more than the other ninety combined, which is why coverage matters from the first subscriber rather than from the first thousand. What a reply time should be.
A creator running this alone is doing the shooting, the posting and the messaging at exactly the moment when all three matter most, which is the reason the first months are the heaviest and why the hours fall later rather than rising.
Common questions
How do you get your first 100 OnlyFans subscribers?
Short-form video, on Instagram and TikTok. Around 90% of the traffic to our accounts comes from those two, and the first hundred come from there almost without exception. The fastest case on our roster reached a hundred subscribers after the first three Instagram videos that account ever posted.
How long does it take to get 100 OnlyFans subscribers?
Between a day and two weeks on our Starter Track accounts. The spread is mostly whether a single video lands, which is not something anyone controls directly, only something that volume buys chances at.
Is Reddit good for getting OnlyFans subscribers?
It works, and it sits behind short-form video on our accounts rather than beside it. We publish a directory of 58 subreddits with member counts and which ones ban creator promotion, because creators ask for it, but a beginner deciding where to spend the first month should spend it on Instagram and TikTok.
How many posts does it take to get 100 subscribers?
Three, in the fastest case we have seen, which was that account's first three videos on Instagram. That is not a typical number and we would not plan around it. What is reliable is that volume buys chances: the accounts that get there in a day and the ones that take two weeks are usually posting at the same rate, and one of them got lucky earlier.
Should I put my OnlyFans link in my Instagram bio straight away?
No. A link out of a brand new account is one of the more reliable ways to lose reach before you have any, along with content that is too explicit for the platform and behaviour that reads as automated. Recovery takes anything from a few minutes to two weeks.
What are 100 OnlyFans subscribers worth?
About $3,300 a month net if they are paying subscribers and about $400 if they are free ones, on the per-subscriber figures from our own accounts. The more useful thing about the first hundred is not the money, it is that they are the first honest reading of what the traffic is worth, and that reading does not change much as the account scales.
The short version
Post short-form video daily, be one describable thing rather than generally attractive, and do not put the link in the bio on day one. The first hundred arrive between a day and two weeks after the first post, and the first post should be around day seven rather than day one.
